The Etiquette Factory at Merle Norman Cosmetcis

I attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas receiving a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics/Fashion Merchandising. My great aunt owned a Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio, so I grew up using the product. It was a natural, therefore, for me to work at Merle Norman during college. While there, I continued my high school love of band (saxophone) and twirling. I was also able to represent Lamar University at the Miss Texas Pageant.

After graduation, I worked for Estee Launder, Inc. as an Account Coordinator, Account Executive, and Regional Manager in Houston and San Antonio, TX. When my husband was transferred to Memphis, TN., I was able to expand my time with Estee Lauder by working for sister company, Clinique. While in Memphis, we had 2 sons, now both diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

We returned to the great state of Texas in 1997, and I was forced to stop traveling due to the younger sons need for a heart transplant (age 3). With this great miracle, I began looking at my first love, teaching, and became a certified Special Educator, teaching for 5 years in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX. This provided me great learning opportunities for Autism and allowed me to specialize in Handwriting without Tears. I continued to work with special programs for reading and math remedial programs, until the opportunity to open my own Merle Norman in 2009.

My background allows me to offer Image Consulting, including color analysis and etiquette training for children and adults, as well as makeup application and skincare advice. As a professionally certified etiquette speaker for the Etiquette Factory, I am now offering summer camps, workshops, princess/spa tea parties, and business etiquette training.

Good manners reflect something from inside-an innate sense of consideration for others and respect for self.
